Welcome to AN ACTRESS EATS! I’m Sarah, aforementioned actress. And, as anyone who knows me knows, I eat. Some would say I eat a lot. Most would say I eat with enthusiasm, curiosity & a whole hell of a lot of joy. Especially if chocolate is involved. I started this site as a way to wrangle and share my love of all things food. So! A little about me.
It’s hard to say when it all started. I was lucky enough to grow up with parents who were both amazing cooks. My brother and I used to say we won the breakfast lottery, because my Dad made the best bacon (“Very crisp!” he crows to every diner waitress to this day), and my Mom made the best scrambled eggs. We ate dinner together as a family almost every night, and we were fortunate enough to be tasting and trying new things all the time – whether it was home in the kitchen, or at a local restaurant. Food was celebrated; food was a way to connect and communicate, to show love and care towards one another.
Lots and lots of years later, food is still all of those things to me. Lately, it’s also been an adventure! As an actress, I travel a lot for work. I spent a year and a half touring the US with the 1st National Tour of Wicked, lived and worked in Canada for six months,
spent a summer ambling across Europe…you get the idea. At first, traveling for work proved to be more stressful than I thought it would be. But as always, food came through. It has been my constant in a world of instability. It wasn’t until I started traveling – thanks to my career – that I knew I was in love.
Now? I devour food blogs. I drool over Instagram accounts. I research new restaurants, food trucks, hole-in-the-wall joints and Michelin-starred staples and delight in adventuring to them all. I’m constantly discovering new tastes and trends and sharing my favorites with anyone & everyone who will listen. Including – you!
So go ahead and peruse the site, bookmark your favorites, and feel free to write me with any questions, professional inquires or suggestions. I would love to hear from you!
Happy reading (and eating!),
